Education Program
Resource’s Education Program offers a range of activities that aim to share the knowledge and skills to help the community rethink waste and reduce the amount of precious goods and materials going to landfill. We offer tours, workshops and talks. To keep up to date with what’s on offer, sign up to our Resource Education Mailing List.
COMMUNITY PROGRAM
Be your own resource! We provide a range of workshops to help the community learn the skills and knowledge to reduce waste going to landfill.
Our current program runs seasonally and has a range of workshops on offer for adults, families and kids.
Bookings are essential and can be made via the link below.
Group Tours
Join us for a tour to discover the challenges of waste and see some of the solutions in action. We now offer behind the scenes tours of the Resource Work Cooperative, as well as the McRobies Waste Transfer Station.
On tours participants will get the opportunity to learn about what a co-operative is and see our operations in action. On any given day this may include visiting our salvage, sorting, scrap, e-waste, collectables and timber processing teams in action. All Resource Tip Shop Tours finish with a visit to our shop where participants are welcome to shop at the end of the tour. This is a fascinating look into the operation of our unique social enterprise.
Group Workshops
Bring your office, school or community group for a hands-on activity rethinking waste.
We provide educators / skill sharers, facilities and materials and can tailor an activity to suit you and your group. Most workshops are delivered at the South Hobart Tip Shop in our Education Centre, however, we can deliver workshops at schools, community centres or events.
